My name is Shawn Mullen and I am so excited about my tenth year at Forman School. Science is not just my subject, it's my life! For the 2016-2017 school year, I am teaching 2 Forensics classes, 1 Biology class and 2 Honor's Biology classes. I have also previously taught Chemistry and Design Technology. One of my favorite months at Forman is March because, RAINFOREST!!! If you don't know about the Forman School Rainforest Project, click here. Over my nine years here, I have coached Rock Climbing, Alpine Skiing, Ultimate Frisbee and Boat Building, and this spring I am thrilled to be joining the amazing team of Crew coaches.
I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Biology with a focus in Entomology at Central Connecticut State University. As part of my degree, I am conducting research about wood-boring beetles in White Memorial Conservation Center right here in Litchfield, where I was born, raised and currently live.
I am committed to continuous reflection and improvement in my teaching practices and I am a firm believer that all learners have the potential to succeed in great ways. I am very much looking forward to a phenomenal school year. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns!
